Cheers to a New Year - 2012!

Back again!

I've been true to my New Year resolution for twenty-twelve to do more craft! I don't have much motivation to ever do scrapbooking but I've been really trying to push myself lately.

I was exploring the web the other day and came across this great idea for a blog called "Show Us Your Stuff". I've chosen the challenge two for January where you have to incorporate the quote from Oprah Winfrey into your layout.

 "Cheers to another year - and another chance to get it right"

 I've used a photo taken of Shaun and I moments before midnight upon our New Years Cruise across Vanuatu as it really captures us in the moment of celebrating. I enjoy that the quote represents us spending another year together as I believe this year will be the one for big changes in our lives!

Anyway, here's my layout - Cheers to a New Year:

My Mum & I have SOOOO much paper in our stash so I've been trying to challenge myself to use different colour schemes and patterned paper. The background paper I've chosen is from the Heidi Grace range as well as the paper used for the colour blocking behind the photo. This is the first time I've used yellow on a layout I believe... Pink and yellow go together so well!

I hope you liked my layout. Please feel free to offer any suggestions. I appreciate all criticism. :-)

Your love floats my boat.

Good morning bloggers,

Well this is my first official post so I'm a wee bit excited. To get me started I've used a sketch challenge I found yesterday over at Get Picky. I kept pretty true to the sketch except I didn't stick the balls all around the background.

Here is the sketch:

Here I used a My Mind's Eye tag from the paper series ..... I stamped over the tag using Chocolate Chip ink, and daubed the edges, from SU! with a stamp from the Love and Cherish set from Kaszazz.

Here I've included some hidden journalling with a tag behind the date which to me ironically looks like the bottom of a boat.

So I hope you all enjoy my LO as much as I enjoyed making it. I'm off to scrap some more.

A new year, a new beginning...

I've finally bit the bullet and commenced designing a blog. This year I want to be more organised...who doesn't?... so I've taken the first step and here we are!
I hope that I can keep up with this blogging trend and can inspire others as you all in turn inspire me.
